The Lady Indians finished fourth in the District 10-5A Preview at Tangle Ridge Golf Club last Friday and Saturday.
The team shot 367 in the opening round and came back on day two to post a 359 for a 726 tournament total. Midlothian was first followed by Mansfield Lake Ridge and Mansfield Legacy.
Waxahachie defeated both Lake Ridge and Legacy on day two, setting the stage for a tight finish next week during the district championships.
"All five varsity players have shot at least once in the 80's," Waxahachie head girls golf coach Lonnie Gaylor said. "Now we just need to do it on back to back days."
Kayli Nash led the way on day one with a career-tournament best 88. Olivia Toliver also carded a career-best 93.
On day two, both Baylie Paris and Ana Herrin headed back into the club after firing 87s.
Paris finished the tournament with a team-low 178, while Nash carded 179, Marisabel Garza had a 187, Kate Hendrix and Ana Herrin finished with 189s and Olivia Tolliver had a 193.
The Lady Indians now turn their attention to the District 10-5A Championships April 4-5.
