In the early morning hours of Tuesday, March 6, 2018, our beloved Carol Ann Harvey, age 84, peacefully passed away and rejoined her loved ones and our Lord in eternal rest. Surrounded by a life-long collection of family and friends, her life was celebrated Saturday, March 10, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Mineola, Texas.

She was born November 12, 1933 in Mineola, Texas to the late Jessie Gary Curtis and Inez Colbert Curtis. A graduate of Mineola High School, Carol attended Tyler Junior College and Texas Christian University where she studied English and History and was a proud member of the Apache Belles. In 1955, she met the love of her life, Joseph Kevin Harvey, on a blind date and the two were married shortly thereafter on June 30, 1956. Together, they built a home, a family, and a beautiful life. Carol worked for many years as a Reservation Specialist for Amtrak Railroad where she eventually retired, and was an avid reader and dancing enthusiast in her free time.

A kind, thoughtful, and compassionate soul, Carol’s smile and tender disposition were absolutely contagious, and those who were fortunate enough to be loved by her, knew that she did so unconditionally and beyond measure. Although she will be dearly missed, it is our hope that she has found comfort and solace in our Lord’s sweet embrace, and is once again “cutting a rug” on Heaven’s dance floor.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother: James Gary Curtis, her husband, and her daughter: Mary Harvey Thomas. Her legacy is carried on through her sons: Joseph Kevin Harvey II and James Curtis Harvey, her grandchildren: Jessica Thomas Gilmore, Jeremy Michael Thomas, Jennifer Louise Thomas, Carol Annette Harvey, and Joseph Kevin Harvey III, and her great-grandchildren: Ryleigh Mia Gilmore and Jackson Thomas Gilmore.
