WAXAHACHIE

The Ellis County Commissioners Court considered several items for its development, purchasing, and administrative departments at its Tuesday morning meeting. The next time the court will meet is at 10 a.m. March 27 in the historic Elis County Courthouse in downtown Waxahachie.

During the meeting commissioners,

• Approved move a request to amend the county rules, regulations, and specifications for subdivisions and manufactured homes in connection with the minimum setback requirement for underground swimming pools to the March 27 meeting.

• Approved to release maintenance bond issued by Developers Surety and Indemnity Company in the amount of $89,463.28 for phase three of the Taylor Ridge subdivision located in the extraterritorial jurisdiction of the City of Waxahachie.

• Approved to accept the sole source purchase affidavit from Donelson Construction.

• Approved and ratified the storage rental agreements for the tax assessor’s office.

• Recognized students who have earned the gold medal of achievement from the Royal Rangers.

• Took no action to enact a burn ban.

• Approved the updated mass gathering application.

• Approved the lease of ADA voting equipment for the City of Venus, which will be holding elections on May 5.

• Discussed residents’ complaints of the general cleanliness in the new courts building on Jacksons Street in Waxahachie.

• Took no action to contract with GRS to perform a GASB 75 report, a master agreement with the North Central Texas Council of Governments north Texas Share, and a business agreement under HIPPA pending legal review.

• Approved a mediation fee of $375 to Lisa Wyatt, PLLC, concerning the lawsuit of Webster vs. Bates.

• Approved to accept and ratify the mediated settlement agreement on behalf of the county in the lawsuit of Webster vs. bates that resulted from the court-ordered mediation in the case.

• Honored Meals on Wheel of Johnson and Ellis Counties with a proclamation for the work the organization does in the community
