A new way to shop for ranch, home, and outdoor necessities will soon open in northern Waxahachie. Atwoods Ranch and Home has its official grand open planned for a date to be announced later this month for its newest store located on Highway 77, just south of Butcher Road.

The store will provide approximately 50 new jobs.

Doug Barnes, Waxahachie Director of Economic Development, said "We are very pleased to have Atwoods come into our community. They are going to be adding employees as well as providing services to citizens in our community. They are going to be the anchor to the shopping center there on U.S. Highway 77, the North Grove Business Center. That is going to open up some additional shopping for citizens that travel 77 north. We are really pleased that they have decided to come into our community."

Serving homeowners, ranchers, and hobby farmers for the past 58 years, Atwoods offers nationally known name brands alongside an assortment of unique items seldom found anywhere else. It has a fun, friendly, and somewhat nostalgic atmosphere with a reputation for every day low prices.

“We’re extremely excited to serve the people of Waxahachie,” President Brian Atwood said. “It’s a wonderful area, and we’ve really been encouraged by the community support and feedback we’re getting as the new store has been under construction.”

Based in Enid, Oklahoma, Atwoods is owned and operated by the Atwood family and has been since its founding in 1960. What began as one single store has grown into 62 large-format stores with locations in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Kansas, and Missouri. The company’s broad product mix, coupled with discounted pricing and good old-fashioned customer service has made it a staple for customers looking to stretch their dollar in today’s tough economic environment.

“Our focus is solely on the customer,” Atwood said. “Whether you’re shopping for boots, jeans, fertilizer, dog food, firearms, honey, baby chicks, a water hose, or just about anything else; we have it, and we have it for less.”
