The Waxahachie boys' soccer team is now within striking distance of securing one of four District 10-5A playoff sport after defeating Mansfield Timberview at home Friday night.

Rolando Nieto scored twice, while David Hernandez and Joshua Duarte added goals in the win. Duarte, David Hernandez, and Nieto provided the assists. Crisanto Perez and Thomas Caliendo recorded the clean sheet in goal.

The Indians are now tied with Midlothian atop the district standings and are four points clear of third-place Mansfield Lake Ridge.

Waxahachie returns to action Tuesday at home against Lancaster. The match begins at 6 p.m.
