Oscar Matias Cejudo departed this life February 10, 2018, in Dallas. He was born September 27, 1931, in Laredo, Texas to Alfonso Cejudo and Margarita Romano. Oscar served his country in the Marine Corps in both the Korean conflict and the Vietnam War and fought in the Battle of Chosin Reservoir. He was a Purple Heart recipient. He retired from the Marines with 20 years’ service at age 36. He remained active in the Marine Corps League and ran the Ellis County Toys for Tots campaign for 23 years. He owned OSA aviation business from which he retired at age 65.

Oscar is survived by his wife of 61 years, Edna (Romayne), sons Oscar Cejudo, Jr. and William Cejudo (Meaghan), daughter Barbara Leon, son-in-law Christopher Merwin, grandchildren Oscar, III, Christi, James, Hannah, David, Maddy Blue, Weston, Georgia Bee, Blake, Vivienne, and Daniel, nine great-grandchildren, sister Olga Wizard and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded by his parents, daughter Treva Merwin and sister Delfina Padron.

Visitation will be Thursday, February 15, 2018, 6:00-8:00 PM in the chapel of Boze Mitchell McKibbin Funeral Home in Waxahachie.

Funeral services will be Friday, February 16, 2018, at Boze Mitchell McKibbin at 11:00 AM with Chip Sebring officiating. Interment will follow

at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.
