Heartsaver CPR

Heartsaver CPR/ AED is a classroom, video-based, instructor-led course that teaches adult CPR and AED use, as well as how to relieve choking on an adult, child, and infant. Upon successful completion, the participant would be issued an American Heart Association, HeartSaver CPR/AED card.

Intro. to American Sign Language

An introduction to the basics in American Sign Language (ASL). Includes the manual alphabet and numbers. You will develop basic conversational abilities and will be exposed to ASL grammar.

Introduction to Excel

This class is for anyone who wants to learn the fundamentals of Microsoft Excel. You will learn how to understand spreadsheets, enter data and save workbooks, modify worksheets and workbooks. You will also be provided with the tools to create and edit charts and graphs, work with formulas and use templates, styles and auto formats.

Introduction to QuickBooks

An introductory course of the QuickBooks accounting software, including setting up a new company and chart of account; recording transactions with customers, vendors, and employees. Learn to create & manage lists as well as running reports. This class is extremely hands-on, fun, and evokes a communicable environment.

Introduction to Word

This class will provide you with the tools needed to successfully create and save documents, edit and make corrections and use automatic text features. You will format pages, paragraphs, move, copy, find and replace text. You will also learn to use proofing tools and preview and print documents, envelopes, and labels and learn to work with templates.

Google Docs 101

Learn the basics of Google Docs as you create and edit documents which can be stored online. You will learn to write reports, create joint proposals, keep track of meeting notes. Even better, multiple people can work at the same time, you can see others’ changes as they make them and every change is automatic. You will also learn how to share documents you have created. Google Docs is a great tool you will find beneficial for the workplace and for home.

Conversational Spanish I

Ellis County Children’s Theatre Improv - For the Serious Young Actor (Beginner)

Students in grades 2-4 are invited to learn about theatre through the study of improvisation. Students will learn the fundamental rules of improv, and then apply those rules to the study of timing, story structure, and building characters within scenes. This class will be a fun, supportive, group work based environment that will encourage young actors to make bold choices and take more risks on stage. This class is taught at WHS. Limit 8 students.

Bricks4Kidz, Ages 6-12 Wheels in Motion

Children will use LEGO bricks, axles, pulleys, gears, and motors to build a variety of models on wheels, such as a fire engine, delivery truck, and some cool robots (e.g., Rescue Robot, K-9 Bot, and Speed Bot). They will have fun racing against each other’s models, using remote controls, and learn more about speed and force! After building the model, creativity is encouraged by modifying it. At the end of class (time-permitting), they can build their own creations at our creative-build station!

Dancing Through Time

Have you always wanted to learn how to dance but never found a way to get started? We have the class for you! Whether you have never danced before or you have been dancing for years, MADNESS Entertainment will be teaching line dances throughout history of hip-hop with such dances as the Macarena,

Learn How to Draw

Drawing is a fun skill to have & it challenges new parts of the brain. This class will help you learn new and fun techniques to improve your drawing. We will practice the use of various types of line shading to create volume, composition, negative space, and color. Both realistic and abstract styles will be explored. Supplies: white drawing pad 12”x18” or larger, 2B, 4B, 6B and ebony pencils, white eraser, sharpener, blending stump, and (optional) chalk pastels. Ages 13 and up.

Beginner’s Guitar

Learn the fundamentals of the guitar including playing chords and reading music.
