MIDLOTHIAN

There's a new option for fried-chicken lovers in Midlothian.

Golden Chick, known for its crispy original tenders and marinated fried chicken, officially opened its doors Monday, Jan. 22. The restaurant, located 1061 E. Main, is the first Golden Chick in Midlothian and the 180th restaurant to open.

While this is the first Midlothian restaurant for franchisee Joseph Omobogie, he is no stranger to the Golden Chick brand. Omobogie also owns and operates multiple Golden Chick restaurants in Corsicana, Dallas, Desoto, Duncanville, Ennis, Garland, and Mesquite.

“I am proud to say I have been a part of the Golden Chick family for 20 years. I started out as a cook, and about 15 years ago I opened my very first Golden Chick location as a franchisee,” Omobogie said. “I am honored to open my 10th Golden Chick restaurant, and I could not be happier to introduce Midlothian to Golden Chick’s delicious food.”

The new Midlothian Golden Chick, located across the street from the Midlothian Plaza shopping center, will employ 25 team members from the community. The 2,155-square foot restaurant features Golden Chick’s quality classic and chef-inspired menu items prepared with the restaurant’s special, one-of-a-kind marinating mixes and batters which customers have loved for over 50 years.

“We are thrilled to open our first location in the city of Midlothian,” said Mark Parmerlee, president and CEO of Golden Chick. “Joseph is a wonderful success story from within the Golden Chick family, and I am very proud of his hard work and dedication to his customers and the Golden Chick brand.”

Omobogie has plans to open additional Golden Chick locations in Dallas and Allen during the first half of 2018.

“Golden Chick encourages each of its franchisees to get involved with their local communities, for which I am thankful,” Omobogie said. “In Midlothian, our restaurant has plans to support local schools and churches with whatever they may need.”

As the brand continues to grow this year, a Golden Chick press release states its focus will remain on actively serving the communities in which its restaurants reside. In addition to supporting local sports teams and academic programs, Golden Chick employees and customers have helped the brand hold highly successful fundraisers to support the Assist The Officer Foundation and the American Red Cross.

The new Midlothian Golden Chick will be open for service daily from 10:30 a.m. — 10:00 p.m.
