The Oaks Church was recently joined by state, county and city leaders to commemorate the completion of their new building, focused on better serving youth and kids. Dedication services took place Sunday, Jan. 21 with special guest speaker, John Maxwell speaking before both services.
The official ribbon-cutting ceremony followed the second service.
It is fairly apparent that the congregation, as well as the communities in Ellis County, are growing. With their new building and renovations to kids ministry spaces, the Oaks is able to better serve the community with their vision: Growing generations that transform communities.
“Everything we’ve worked for as a church is coming to life. This building will be able to do so much more for the next generation,” Senior Pastor of The Oaks Fellowship, Scott Wilson said.
The expansion will house newly themed kids worship spaces, a nursery wing, a suite of pastoral care offices and a 500-seat auditorium for youth, young adults weddings and other functions. The new lobby space is home to White Rhino’s Red Oak location which will be open daily from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.
In celebration of their newest milestone, New York Times bestselling author and leadership coach, John Maxwell spoke to those in attendance.
“Our heart is to give back to the people of Ellis County, give them a place to create relationships, and create an experience for the entire family,” Scott explained. “Join the celebration on January 21st, and take part in the exciting things happening here at The Oaks.
