The Southwestern Assemblies of God University women’s basketball team lost to Texas Wesleyan University at home Monday, 73-67.

The Lady Lions are now 6-9 overall and 3-6 in Sooner Athletic Conference play.

The Lady Lions competed with the Lady Rams and were ahead the majority of the game. The offense was not the issue for SAGU Monday. Numerous turnovers for the Lady Lions resulted in lay-ups for the Lady Rams.

The Lady Lions were led once again in scoring by McKenzie Martin with 25 points. Four of the Lady Lions finished in double figures. Senior Ebony Colbert and sophomore Lexi Richboth had 11 points. Kiara Glenn added 10 points and three assists. Dotty Diggles led the Lady Lions in rebounding with 15 and she also had four blocks.

The Lady Rams were led by Falesha Fuller with 14 points and five rebounds.

The Lady Lions traveled to Oklahoma to compete against Southwestern Christian University on Thursday. Results were not available as of press time.
