Our beloved father, brother, grandfather, and friend, Bob Lee, went to be with Jesus on December 10, 2017. He was 75 years old. He was born in Detroit, Michigan, but always said: “I got to Texas as quick and I could.” In his heart, he was always a Texan. He served in the Navy for 3 years and after that had a 27-year career with the same company, Friden/Singer/TRW, in many different positions. He later started his business as The Gate Doctor, building and repairing automatic gates. He was a servant of God in many ways through his church, 1st UMC Midlothian, Habitat for Humanity of Ellis County, Manna House, and various mission trips, Christian Motorcycle Association, Discover God’s Call, or wherever else he was called upon to help. He had many facets to his life. He had the ability to make, create, or fix pretty much anything, in addition to actually building 2 houses. There never seemed to be a job too hard for him to handle, and he enjoyed a challenge. He loved his God, his family, his church, and friends. He was an avid sportsman. He loved to hunt, fish, camp, water ski, alpine ski, hike, ride motorcycles, snorkel, and scuba dive. In early years, he enjoyed going on river rafting trips with the guys. He loved to dance and met his wife, Carol, on a dance floor at a YMCA in San Francisco. He also loved to travel on road trips and to cruise to exotic places and many other countries. He enjoyed seeing the history and Machu Picchu, Mayan ruins, and the first Olympic Stadium were some of his favorites. He was preceded in death by his mother and step-father, Erie & Roy Jordan and his father and step-mother, Eugene and Iris Lee. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Carol; his daughter Christie Montgomery and husband Eddie; his son Troy Lee and wife Kim; someone he considered as another son, Craig French, and wife Rebecca; his grandsons Chase Montgomery and fiancee Lauren and Jeremy Montgomery and wife Brandi; his granddaughter Mariah Montgomery; his sister Gene Sims and husband Marvin; his great grandchildren Weston & Maci Montgomery; his half-sisters Kay Lee Brown and husband Dave; and Linda Ayers and husband Chuck; many nieces and nephews; and many friends. His presence will be missed by everyone he knows. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to 1st UMC Midlothian or Habitat for Humanity of Ellis County, P. O. Box 157, Waxahachie, Texas 75168.
