Jacquelyn Ann Boaz Coffin, formerly of Waxahachie, went home to heaven on August 3, 2017, after a short illness. Jackie was born in Dallas on December 8, 1952, to Billie Marie Tapp and Jack Wylie Gailey. The third of four girls, Jackie brightened the world with her passionate spirit and infectious laugh.

Jackie was preceded in death by her first husband, James N Woodruff (1950-1986), her parents, brothers Patrick Edward Gailey (1962-1980) and Chandler Wallace Gailey (1962-1995) and her grandparents, Charles and Viola Cash. She is survived by her husband, Terry Coffin of Monticello Indiana; sisters Joan Holm of Idaho Falls ID, Susan Johnston of Whitney and Janet Wagnon of Sadler; stepmother Mary Gailey of Mineola and stepsister Krista Vance of Quitman. Although Jackie had no children of her own, she enveloped several lucky individuals with a motherly love, including “my twins” Louie and Rachel Rice of Plano, and Jessica and Eric Claxton of Indiana.

Jackie grew up in Richardson and graduated from J J Pearce High School. She studied horticulture at

Texas State Technologies Institute and had a life-long love of plants and gardening.

Prior to her move to Indiana, Jackie was active in the First Methodist Church of Waxahachie, serving in the Steven’s Ministry. Throughout her life, Jackie invested herself in the needs of her family and friends. She was a passionate animal lover and the remains of her beloved dogs, Blondie and Lilly, will be interred with her. Precious Dusty, her rescued Shih Tzu, will be loved and cared for by Jessica and Eric Claxton.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, September 30, 2017, at First United Methodist Church in Waxahachie. Burial will follow at Elm Branch Cemetery in Bardwell under the direction of Boze Mitchell McKibbin Funeral Home of Waxahachie. While we miss her here, we know that heaven rejoices and celebrates.
