WAXAHACHIE — Four first-quarter points were all visiting North Forney could muster in the entire first half Saturday afternoon against the Runnin' Indians at George W. Solis Gymnasium.

Waxahachie improved to 2-1 on the young season with the convincing 81-31 victory over the Falcons.

Despite Larry Wise being out of action with a migraine, the Runnin' Indians had plenty of offense to spare.

JT Warren connected on four first-half three-pointers to enter the locker with a game-high 15 points. He ended as the Runnin' Indians' leading scorer with 19 points. Makai Pope also added nine of his 14 points in the first half.

North Crowley didn't reach double figures until Tre Summers drilled a corner three with 4:58 to play in the third quarter. He then hit a second three-pointer with Waxahachie leading 56-15 and just over four minutes to play in the third quarter. Summers scored all 22 of his points in the second half.

Montre Gibson scored three of the Runnin' Indians final five points to end the third quarter with a 66-20 Waxahachie lead. The Runnin' Indians pulled back the press and played a ball-control offense in the fourth quarter, as each team scored 13 points in the fourth quarter for the 81-31 final.

Both Preston Hodges and Qua Grant reached double figures in the scoring department with 10 and 12 points, respectively. Jaron Curry added six of his eight points in the third quarter, while Ethan Whiturs added seven points, Gibson had five, and CJ McGruder and Demani Richardson each scored three points.

Waxahachie will face West Mesquite on the road this Tuesday, Nov. 20. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
