WAXAHACHIE — Nadine Jaimes, a senior forward on the Southwestern Assemblies of God University women’s soccer team, has been named to the Sooner Athletic Conference First Team All-Conference for her outstanding performance this season.
Voting was done by the SAC coaches.
The 5-foot-1 Jaimes scored 21 goals this season, had eight assists and attempted 76 shots on goal. Jaimes is ranked in the top 15 in the NAIA in three different statistical categories that include number six in the nation in both shots per game (7.05) and shots on goal per game (4.0) and number 15 in the country in total goals with 21. She scored a career-high three goals this season against Texas College.
Jaimes has had an illustrious career at SAGU that has been developed by her work ethic and tenacity. Jamies stated, “I will continue to say, it is what you do in the dark that will put you in the light. I am just happy that I am representing SAGU this way. It is a result of all the team has done and I am so proud of what we are doing but we aren’t finished yet.”
The Lady Lions are not finished yet as they will compete in the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) regional tournament in Oklahoma City on November 18th. The Lady Lions will play for a chance to go the NCCAA National tournament on the line.
Coach Paul Hason knows how special a player like Nadine Jaimes is to his squad. Coach Hason said, “I’m excited for Nadine and her teammates on her SAC recognition. Nadine is a humble athlete who as a team captain continues to demonstrate the core values of SAGU.”
SAGU will either face Mid-America Christian University (MACU) or Colorado Christian University (CCU) in the NCCAA regional opening round.
