DALLAS — The Red Oak Lady Hawks left little doubt in the area round of the 5A volleyball playoffs by sweeping Dallas Jefferson 25-7 in all three sets.

As a team, the Lady Hawks finished with an outstanding .508 hitting percentage on 61 attempts at Ellis Field House in Dallas on Thursday, Nov. 2.

Sophomore Hailey Hunt led the attack with 13 kills on 15 attempts (.867 hitting percentage) and senior Katie Hess finished 12-of-16 for a .625 attacking clip. Emily North added five kills and led the Lady Hawks with a pair of aces.

Lili Ratliff recorded 12 digs and Hess chipped in 10. Emily Smith led the team with 18 assists while North added 12.

Red Oak will face Midlothian in the 5A Region II Quarterfinal round Tuesday, Nov. 7 at Cedar Hill High School. The first serve is at 7 p.m.

Red Oak won the first two meeting this season — a two-set sweep in August and five-set thriller in Sept. — before falling at home in five sets in October.
