BLOOMING GROVE — After dropping their first district volleyball match of the season on Friday, the Maypearl Lady Panthers bounced back into the win column with a Tuesday sweep of Blooming Grove.

Maypearl is now 21-12 on the season and 7-1 in District 17-3A. The only loss in district play so far came in a close four-set match against Grandview (21-25, 19-25, 25-21, 20-25).

On Tuesday, Maypearl jumped out with a 25-3 first-set win and followed with 25-17, 25-18 wins in sets two and three.

Katie Gann led the Lady Panthers with nine kills, while Madison Ball added eight kills, Marissa Stottlemire had seven, and Katibeth Stanford and Peyton Pogue had six, each. The Lady Panthers recorded a .410 hitting percentage as a team.

Gann and Ball fired home eight and seven aces, respectively, and Gann added 15 assists.

The Lady Panthers return to the home court Friday, Oct. 6 against Palmer. The first serve is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
