To the Editor,
Little has been said about the healthcare bill our SEnate is trying to sneak by everyone this weekend. It is called the Graham-Cassidy Health Care Bill and requires 50 votes to pass in our Senate. The Graham-Cassidy Bill is an extreme proposal that would increase costs for older Americans with an age tax, cut coverage, and price gouge people with pre-existing conditions like cancer, diabetes, and heart disease. Graham-Cassidy would jeopardize older Americans' ability to stay in their own homes as they age and threaten coverage for people with disabilities and people living in nursing homes. AARP, doctors, hospitals, and patient advocates all agree that this bill is the wrong path forward on health care.
Please contact Senators Cruz and Cronyn to voice your opinion that we can do better for our elderly citizens.
