WAXAHACHIE — An air ambulance transported a three-year-old boy after he was struck by a vehicle Monday afternoon. First responders were dispatched at 3:05 p.m. to the 600 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.
“There was a three-year-old that was on the south side of the roadway who ran out in front of the car,” Waxahachie Police officer David Bittle said. “The car was unable to stop to avoid hitting the child.”
Bittle stated that the driver of the Ford Taurus was traveling eastbound on MLK. A ground ambulance took the child to Baylor Scott and White Medical Center in Waxahachie. He was then taken by helicopter to Children’s Medical Center in Dallas.
The accident remains under investigation by the Waxahachie Police Department at this time.
