ENNIS — Theatre Rocks! in Ennis recently announced auditions for “A Christmas Carol,” the classic novella by Charles Dickens.

The story centers around Ebenezer Scrooge, a miserly and miserable old soul whose one goal in life is to acquire and hoard as much wealth as he can while giving no thought to anyone or anything else. In one night, Christmas Eve, Scrooge is visited by three ghosts who are sent to help him change the course of his life.

Adapted for the Theatre Rocks! stage by Lisa Rosewell and Kate Vega, and directed by Kate Vega, performances will run Fridays and Saturdays, Dec. 1-16; Sunday matinee, Dec. 17th; and a special performance, Monday, Dec. 18th.

Auditions are set for Saturday, Oct. 7 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Theatre Rocks!, 505 N.W. Main St., Ennis, TX 75119. The script read-through is Oct. 12 and rehearsal period runs from Oct. 16 - Nov. 30. Email katevega@hotmail.com to reserve your audition time.

There are multiple roles for men, women and children, ages 8-80. There will be sides available at the time of your audition.

Those actors interested in being a caroler, please prepare 16 bars of a traditional Christmas carol to be sung a cappella.
