Have you ever had a friend come to you and ask you to do them a huge favor or to do a specific task?
Then after they have asked you and you agree to handle everything for them, they continually come back and act like they are still worried that the job will get done?
It makes you feel like that they have no confidence in your abilities to get the job done in the first place. It also makes you want just to say, “Obviously, you have no faith in me to get this done, so why don’t you just do it yourself?” Have you ever had this happen to you?
That’s exactly what we do to God a lot of the times! We pray and ask God to help us in a certain way or to help us with a certain problem. Then we continue to worry about it.
If you give something to God, don’t take it back. How many times have we prayed and given a need to God, only to worry about it, take it back, and do it ourselves? This only prolongs your blessing. Give it to God; feel relieved that it is in His hands, and walk away knowing everything will now work out for your good. Where there is doubt, He brings certainty. He’s in the business of making the crooked paths straight and bringing goodness into our lives… He just needs us to give our situation to Him by faith.
Remember when you were little and you needed your Dad or your Mom to help you? You know if they would help you, everything would be just fine. Once they agreed to help you, you just felt a huge weight lift off of your shoulders. You didn’t spend one-second longer worrying about it.
Why can’t we do this with God? We are constantly praying to Him to meet our need. Then we continue to worry and stress about it as if we have no faith whatsoever that God can handle your unique situation.
We can go before our Lord and give Him our troubles, and we can walk away knowing it is in good hands.
So, give it God and “Don’t Take it Back”…. Walk away and say, “Thank you Lord for taking care of this problem” If we truly do this, He will take care of it and He will bless you in the process.
Do something to make a difference in someone’s life today!
