MANSFIELD — THe Midlothian Lady Panther volleyball team split a pair of matches played in Mansfield on Friday and Tuesday.

Midlothian (21-11, 4-2 in 10-5A) swept Mansfield Legacy on Friday, Sept. 22 (25-20, 25-11, 25-20).

Sydney Little fired home 15 kills while Samantha Rodgers added nine and Aubrey Walton finished with six. As a team, the Panthers accounted for six aces with Kamryn Owen serving up three of those. She also added a team-high 37 assists.

Kelby Buchanan led the way with 20 digs. Walton added 14 digs, Owen had 10 and Little notched 11.

On Tuesday, though, the Lake Ridge tandem of Capri Davis and Maddison Williams controlled the match against Midlothian. The two combined for 14 and 13 kills, respectively, en route to a three-set sweep (18-25, 20-25, 17-15).

Little again led the Lady Panthers in kills with nine, while Buchanan posted 18 digs, and Owen had 11 assists.

Midlothian now sits tied with (21-12, 4-2) Waxahachie for third place in the District 10-5A standings behind (26-8, 5-1) Lake Ridge and (28-3, 6-0) Red Oak.

The Lady Panthers will play a third-straight road match in Mansfield on Friday when they travel to Timberview for a 5:30 p.m. first serve.
