Kathryn Elaine Johnson, age 56 of Garland, TX died on on September 12, 2017, at her home while in Hospice Care.

She was born on August 26, 1961, in El Dorado, Arkansas. She was the daughter of William Bruton and Patty Bruton (deceased)

She was a graduate of Waxahachie High School and SAGU. In High School she was a member of the National Honor Society, and was active in Speech and Drama competitions, achieving a Regional Best Actress Award. She was a talented artist as well and received the annual Sue Stroope Art scholarship, which she used for one year at UTA before transferring to SAGU.

After several places of employment, she was employed by Weirs Furniture Co. in Dallas for 5 years. It was during this time that she met her husband, Mark. They were married on March 14, 2003, and lived in Garland to the present.

She is survived by her husband, Mark Johnson, and twin sons Evan and Benjamin Johnson, her father William Bruton , brothers Stephen and Charles Bruton, nephews Joshua Bruton, Daniel Bruton and Clinton Johnson, nieces Krista Bruton and Amanda Johnson, mother-in-law Jackie Johnson, brother and sister-in-law Robert and Sue Johnson, uncle and aunt, Bobby and Melba Wallace, aunt Pat Bruton, as well as great aunts, uncles and numerous cousins.

There will be no viewing since her body has been donated for cancer research. A memorial celebration is pending.
