WAXAHACHIE — No injuries were reported after a fire destroyed two vehicles belonging to a traveling carnival early Monday morning. Firefighters were dispatched at about 6:09 a.m. to the 3700 block of Park School House Road to a fire destroyed a recreational vehicle and a semi-trailer.
Emergency Services District Volunteer Fire Department Lt. Dick Brillhart said when firefighters arrived on scene they found a travel trailer fully involved in fire.
“The RV was right up next to the semi-trailer and spread to it before we could get to it,” Brillhart said. “The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time, but we have no reason to feel that it was not accidental in nature.”
Brillhart said it was determined that the fire spread from the travel trailer to a semi-truck trailer parked next to it through radiant heat.
Providing assistance on the call were members of the Waxahachie Fire Department. Crews cleared the scene and returned to the station at about 9:15 a.m. The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time but it is being investigated by the Ellis County Fire Marshal’s Office.
