To members of Waxahachie’s City Council,
I write to recommend the execution of a continued contract with our current city manager, Mr. Paul Stevens.
Especially since returning to my hometown in 2013, I have been so thankful for his service to this town. I think he has done a phenomenal job and have not heard any negative comments concerning him though it’s not mine to know all the circumstances prompting your considerations. My mother, Shirley Williams, joins me in high praise of Paul.
I am excited to see the City of Waxahachie so poised for vibrant growth. I’m also reminded of how rare it is for our roots to run so deep. Having worked with Paul (serving as Chair on Keep Waxahachie Beautiful) and counting him as a friend (through weekly class workouts downtown), I see him as the ideal candidate to continue working in his current role.
Paul respects our history, and I see his familiarity with us as an asset to anticipate and to empower future growth with those challenges such change inevitably brings. In my mind, he also possesses the right heart, head and hands to welcome new families and relocating or beginning industries and entrepreneurs.
Thank you, each of you, for the commitment you continue to invest in our community and the consideration of my concerns.
Again, I encourage you to execute a continued contract with Paul Stevens in the role of City Manager.
The Reverend Miss Polly W Williams, Waxahachie
