Willie Jean Mullinax, 76, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on August 11th, 2017. She was born to Parnell and Jean Wood Ruffin on January 3, 1941, in Ennis, Texas. Growing up she attended Ennis and Alma schools. In 1958, she married Clyde Edward “Eddie” Mullinax and made their home in Waxahachie. Jean was baptized at First Baptist Church by Brother Sam Tullock and later became a member of Farley Street Baptist Church. She retired from Southwestern Bell after 32 years and enjoyed the rest of her life spending time with her family.

She is survived by four daughters and their families; Lynn and Randy Rudd of Italy, Charlotte and Jon Paul Monreal of Ennis, Kim Smithwick and Carol Norcross of Waxahachie. One brother-in-law Eston Mullinax of Phoenix, AZ. Grandchildren include Justin Rudd, Amanda Smithwick, Leah Mullinax-Lance, Jase Rudd, Zachary Monreal, Caleb Norcross, Abbyn Smithwick, and Canaan Mullinax. Great-grandchildren include Tristan Smithwick, Stockard Smithwick, Ryder Itson, Rayney Rudd, Brennon Sigler, Wyatt Rudd, Karley, Bryson and Braydon Sigler, Azlin Itson, and Kyle Rudd. She is also survived by her precious dogs Jack and Scruffy.

Jean is preceded in death by her husband Eddie Mullinax of 45 years, her mother and father Jean and Parnell Ruffin, brothers Pete and Johnny Wayne Ruffin.

Services were held at Boze-Mitchell McKibbin Funeral Home. Visitation was Monday, August 14th from 6-8pm and the funeral service was at 10 am on Tuesday, August 15th.
