WAXAHACHIE — For those who graduated from Waxahachie High School in the 1950s, there is an opportunity quickly approaching that can help rekindle long-lost relationships or, perhaps, begin new ones.
On Saturday, Aug. 5, WHS alumni from 1950-59 are invited to the Optimist Youth Center, located at 219 N Patrick Street, for dinner, dancing and drinks. Doors open at 4 p.m. with food served at 5:30 p.m. and a doo-wop of oldies music starting at 7 p.m. There will also be a variety of drinks available, including those of the "adult" variety for those of age — IDs will be checked. If you have misplaced your driver's license, a reliable form of identification (other than your significant other) may be asked to be provided.
"Growing up in the 50s in Waxahachie was a unique experience," stated Max Hanner. "It was the best of times. Come and relive some of those memories with everyone. The stories may not be just the way they happened, but the way you remember them — that makes them better."
Donations will be accepted for the food, drinks, venue rental, and for the good time provided.
