WAXAHACHIE — The rider of a motorcycle was transported by ground ambulance to an area hospital after a one-vehicle accident on Wednesday afternoon.
Emergency responders were dispatched at about 3 p.m. to the 900 block of U.S. Highway 287 Bypass.
“As of right, all we got is that he left the roadway and lost control causing the motorcycle to flip a couple of times,” Waxahachie Police Officer Corey Kaelin said. “He was ejected off and landed in the ditch right here. He was taken by ambulance and he was not (airlifted) as of right now.”
Members of the Waxahachie Fire Department and AMR provided medical care to the injured person. The service road was blocked off while emergency crews worked the scene. Firefighters cleared the scene and returned to the station at about 3:30 p.m. The cause of the accident remains under investigation at this time by the Waxahachie Police Department.
