RED OAK — Breaking ground in a community that already knows their name, Kaplan and Moon, PLLC, is building a new home with room to spare.
“I’ve been here in Red Oak since 1996, and we’ve [Kaplan and Moon, PLLC] have been here since 2012,” expressed James Moon, managing partner of Kaplan and Moon, PLLC. “It’s been a longtime dream to get a building built here and everything.”
“Our main office is in Dallas, and we were in the Prosperity Bank building, but they’re tearing the bank down, and we decided to build our own,” he added.
Providing legal representation to businesses and individuals throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth area, the company is now adding the 75154 zip code to their list of permanent locations — proving the growth of Red Oak is flourishing.
“There’s not that much office space available in Red Oak,” Moon acknowledged. “There’s a lot of retail and stuff, but there’s just not a lot of residential or professional office space.”
After hiring Acker Construction of Waxahachie as the general contractor and designer for the new building, enlisting the services of Davis and McDill of Waxahachie for the engineering application, and financing provided in part by First State Bank of Rice, Moon and his team broke ground on Vintage Drive, June 23.
Presented by the Red Oak Chamber of Commerce, the new structure, owned by Hairycoo Properties, LLC, will house Kaplan and Moon, PLLC, Federal Title, and Blue Dome Residential Management.
“We’ll have a residential management company that will be here as well, and then we’ve got more office space,” Moon explained the purpose of the layout.
With approximately 3,900 square feet left over, the available area will include five executive suites, to which Moon hopes to encourage the progression of the city by filling up the building’s lodging with other like-minded professionals.
“We’ll basically have insurance companies, investment people, and different things like that. Hopefully, we’ll have an accountant, and I’ve talked to a few engineers coming, but we’ll see,” Moon articulated their plans. “This building is showing the growth of Red Oak, as far as a lot of professionals moving in and construction going on. It’s just reflecting the growth that Red Oak is going through in the last two or three years, and it’s going to be continuing on."
Confident about leasing the space by its completion in September 2017, Moon noted that it wouldn't be difficult in a town that continues to be so welcoming.
“People have already been calling about leasing it up,” Moon recognized. “And the community has been wonderful. Everybody is excited and doing well, and we’re loving it here.”
