BEDFORD — Yet again, the Waxahachie Indian 7-on-7 team is headed to Aggieland for the adidas state championship tournament.

As the heat index climbed over 100 degrees, the Indians knocked off District 10-5A foe, Lancaster, to take the title at the HEB Classic held at L.D. Bell High School.

In the championship game, Waxahachie defeated Lancaster, 41-39. The game was tied 20-20 at the half.

In game one, the Indians defeated Lake Highlands 42-39 and followed by beating Denton (39-19) and J.J. Pearce (40-20).

The Indians will compete in Division I of the state tournament held Friday, June 30 and Saturday, July 1 at Veterans Park and Athletic Complex. The facility is located at 3101 Harvey Road in College Station.
