WAXAHACHIE — Altus Emergency Centers, a leading provider of high-quality, efficient emergency care in Texas, unveiled its new facility in Waxahachie during a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony March 27. The public event featured exciting and educational activities such as tours of the new medical facility, small bites and refreshments.

In addition to the tour and refreshments, a detailed listing of the capacities, services, technologies, and vested interests Altus has in Waxahachie was presented by President of Altus Emergency Centers, Kevin Herrington, as well as other health care professionals. Several other dignitaries, medical department heads and residents of Waxahachie were also in attendance.

“Our patient-centered operation includes receiving concierge service in an emergency room setting. This includes a plan of care that involves both the patient and families, even after being discharged,” said Director of Operations and Development, Obinna Ononobi. “The plan also extends to children, who are just as important to us as adults. We have special accommodations for children and an added tier of comfort, including pediatric devoted exam rooms. Apart from our acclaimed emergency medical care specialties, we believe that any visit to our medical facility will be the most comfortable possible for all children.”

During the Ribbon Cutting ceremony, special guest Eddie Rescue — Altus’ life-size teddy bear mascot — took photos with children and their parents to help wipe away any fears the youngsters might have with a trip to the ER. Children also took home “Mini Eddie Rescues” as a reminder that, “a visit to the doctor can send you back home with a smile,” Ononobi added. “The Altus patient experience is unique and centers around better health and comfort for all patients.”

In tune with the Altus Emergency Center culture and tradition, the Waxahachie Center is equipped with the emergency trained physicians. The emergency center offers cutting-edge on-site technology in CT scans, X-rays, ultrasounds and an exceptional diagnostic lab. Located on Highway 77, in front of The Avenue Church, Altus Health Emergency Center is approximately 8,000 square feet and will be fully operational April 4.

“We are pleased to provide elite and immediate emergency care to Waxahachie,” says Ononobi.

The Waxahachie facility is the fifth freestanding emergency center for Altus Health, with other locations in Baytown, Lake Jackson, Lufkin (recently partnered with CHI St. Luke’s Health) and Lumberton, Texas. For more information, visit www.Altusemergencycenter.com.
