LEWISVILLE — It might not be football season, but the Red Oak Middle School Highsteppers are already kicking it into high gear. The young ladies recently competed in the Showtime International Dallas Grand Finale Competition held at Lewisville High School — and have a few recognitions to prove it.

The officers and the overall team both brought home the Sweepstakes and Judges Award. The Officers also snagged a Best in Category for Novelty and Pom, while the team received awards for Best in Category for Prop and the Champion Circle Award.

Two ROMS Highsteppers — Hannah Kellis and MaKinzie Taplin — were also finalists in the Kickmaster Competition.

“I am so proud of these girls and how hard they worked, ROMS Highstepper Director Cathy Isaacks said. “They behaved as young ladies, and they were wonderfully positive and supportive of each other and other teams.”
