WAXAHACHIE — With Hollywood still two full days from passing out its Oscars, the Waxahachie Chamber of Commerce hosted the 89th annual Academy Awards, Thursday, Feb. 23 at the Waxahachie Civic Center. The night included a catered dinner from My Sister’s Affair, followed by awards for Waxahachie’s “best and brightest” citizens, organizations, and businesses.

Chief financial officer and director of member engagement for the chamber, Sandy King, shared that they were “extremely excited” that is was a sold out event.

“We had so many amazing nominees in each category that the room was full of incredible leaders, successful business owners, and citizens who give tremendously to the community. The atmosphere was fun and energetic and we couldn't be more proud to have been able to recognize all of the amazing people that make our town the great place it is to live, work and play,” an excited King stated.
