Meredith Beaman Jones, age 83, of Waxahachie, passed away early Thursday morning, February 16, 2017. She was born March 11, 1933, in Newark, New Jersey to Elmer and Elizabeth (Nicholson) Beaman. She married David S. Jones on January 23, 1965, and had been his caretaker before he passed away. Meredith was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Waxahachie. She loved the Dallas Cowboys, playing Bridge and Bunco with her friends and loved her dogs. She will be remembered for her carrot cake which was her signature dish and her five flavor pound cake. Meredith was a very outspoken person with a big heart. She was a loving mother and very supportive of her children. She loved living in Waxahachie and going to all of her grandchildren’s dance recitals and sporting events.

Survivors include her four children, William A. Jones and wife Amy S. of Shaker Heights, OH, Michael S. Jones and wife Cindee C., Daniel B. Jones and wife Melissa H. all of Waxahachie and Elizabeth J. Rozyskie and husband John L. Sr. of West, Texas; grandchildren, Timothy, Kelsey, Taylor and fiancé Ashton Lacy, Halee, Cole, Evan, Lauren, Nathan Jones and John L. Jr. and Jarek Rozyskie; one sister, Ann Beaman and one nephew, Matthew Scruggs both of Waxahachie. Meredith was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Elizabeth Beaman; husband of 40 years, David S. Jones and son, Andrew Collins and niece, Meredith Scruggs.

Memorial services will be 10 AM Saturday, February 25, 2017, at the First United Methodist Church in Waxahachie with Pastor Ron Bellomy officiating.
