John T. Land, 69, passed away in Dallas, Texas on Wednesday, January 4, 2017.

John was born in Hubbard, Texas to Almer and Nellie (Phelps) Land. He grew up in Hubbard and Palmer and attended school in Palmer. On November 21, 1969 he married the love of his life Patty White and they made their home in Palmer.

He worked for Tyler Refrigeration for twenty-seven years until his retirement in 2001. He was a member of the Fundamental Baptist Church of Palmer. He enjoyed spending time in nature and fishing. His family was his pride and joy. He loved spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife of forty-seven years, Patty W. Land; daughters: Michelle Graff and husband, Perry and Johnna Bateman and husband, Kenneth; his mother, Nellie Land; five grandchildren: April Norman and husband, J.D., Cody Graff and wife, Kodie, Madison Bateman, Blake Bateman and wife, Mandi, Chandler Bateman; great-grandchildren: Konnor Norman, Karleigh Norman, Kalleigh Norman, Bentley Graff and Brylee Bateman; two brothers: Donald Land and James Land along with a host of other family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his father, Almer Land and great-grandson, Dodge Graff.

Visitation will be held on Monday, January 9, 2017 in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Palmer.

A Celebration of his life will take place on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at 11 a.m. in the Fundamental Baptist Church of Palmer with Rev. Gary Miller officiating. Interment will follow in the Palmer Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
