RED OAK — Following Allen ISD naming current ROISD Superintendent Dr. Scott Niven as its lone finalist for the same role, the Red Oak ISD Board of Trustees has hired Horn Educational Consulting to lead the search for his successor. The search will be conducted during the spring semester, while interim superintendent Alan Oakley continues until the new superintendent is hired.

ROISD School Board President Henry Lozano said after considering a number of proposals and interviewing several firms, the board is pleased to be working with the consulting group. Horn Educational Consulting is led by Dr. John Horn, a highly respected retired superintendent from Mesquite ISD. The firm has an excellent track record in recruiting more than 90 superintendents.

“We have every confidence that Dr. Horn and his firm will find the perfect fit for Red Oak ISD,” Lozano said. “We were very impressed by Horn Educational Consulting’s history of success and the way they involve employees and community members in the process.”

Dr. Horn said he is looking forward to starting the search.

“We are honored to be entrusted with this important work and are confident that we will find an excellent leader who will keep the innovative work of Red Oak ISD moving forward,” Dr. Horn said. “It will be a joy to work with the board, the community, and the staff members. Their input is a very important part of the search process.”

Red Oak ISD will post updates on throughout the spring semester.
