ENNIS – Christmas was not merry and bright for Corsicana resident Richard Allen Thompson.
Ennis police arrested Thompson, 36, on Sunday, Christmas Day, in connection with several vehicle burglaries. Police were dispatched to the 5200 block of Sterilite Dr. in Ennis.
“Witnesses observed him breaking into a vehicle at Sterilite,” Ennis Police Lt. Mike Hopson said. “Officers rolled up, located him and took him into custody. Come to find out he had broken into several vehicles at that location.”
Hopson said police are investigating to see if Thompson is responsible for several other vehicle burglaries in the area.
According to the online jail records from the Wayne McCollum Detention Center, Thompson has been charged with burglary of a vehicle with two or more previous convictions. He was transferred from the Ennis Jail and booked into the detention center at 1:50 a.m. on Dec. 27. Thompson currently remains in custody at the detention center on a $15,000 at of 3:11 p.m. on Wednesday.
