The lives and memories of those lost in the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks will be remembered at a ceremony Sunday in Cedar Hill.

Firefighters, police officers, emergency workers and residents are invited to the memorial service at 1 p.m. in Uptown Shopping Center, located at U.S. Highway 67 and Pleasant Run Road.

A city of Cedar Hill spokesman said the ceremony will recognize the work and dedication provided by first responders in each of our communities.

The ceremony also will honor those who lost their lives in the attacks on New York City, the Pentagon and

United Airlines Flight 93s passengers and crewmembers. As part of the ceremony there will be an honor guard, a singing of the national anthem and a prayer. The featured speaker for the event will be mystery writer/author Carlton Stowers.

For additional information about the ceremony, contact Amanda Baker at the city of Cedar Hill at 972-291-5100, ext. 1007, or go to www.cedarhilltx.com and click on the city calendar.
