Ring toss games

Educational Insights is recalling Ring Toss Games sold nationwide from December 2007 to February 2008. The paint on the yellow peg of the toy contains excessive levels of lead.

The recalled ring toss game has three plastic blue rings and five 4-inch wooden pegs. Four of the five pegs are purple and one is yellow. The base of the game is made of two red wooden boards that form an “X” when assembled.

All purchasers have been contacted and requested to return the games for a store credit or refund.

Water bottles

Downeast Concepts Inc. is recalling Backyard and Beyond Metal Water Bottles sold nationwide from February 2006 to February 2008. Surface paint on the metal water bottles contains excessive levels of lead.

Backyard and Beyond brand water bottles with model No. 67402, 67404, 67442, 67444, 67742, 60442, 67744, 67746, 67748 and 60448 printed on the hang tag. The metal water bottles have a black plastic sip-top and were sold in green, pink or blue with assorted animal or insect graphics on the exterior.

Consumers should return the water bottles to the store where purchased for a refund.

Yamaha Rhino vehicles

Yamaha Motor Corporation U.S.A. is recalling Model Year 2008 Rhino YXR450 and YXR700 Side-by-Side Vehicles sold nationwide from October 2007 to March 2008. The brake caliper on the left front wheel could have been made incorrectly, resulting in brake fluid leaking. This can cause a loss of braking and control of the vehicle, posing a serious safety risk to the driver and passenger.

This recall involves model year 2008 Rhino YXR450 and YXR700 Side-by-Side Vehicles. A complete list can be found at www.recalls.org.

Toy penguins

Plan Toys Inc. is recalling Toy Penguin Figures sold nationwide from May 2007 to February 2008. The head of the penguin toy can detach, exposing connectors with sharp points, presenting a laceration hazard.

The wood penguin-shaped toy has a black head with rubber fins, a yellow nose and a white body with red on the base. The toy is round-shaped and creates a soft bell jingle when spun. The toy measures about 3-3/4 inches in height and about 3 inches in diameter. “PLAN TOYS” and UPC No. 084543521109 or EAN No. 8854740052117 are printed on the outside of the packaging of the toy.

Consumers should return the penguins to the store where purchased to receive a refund.

WarmlyYours is recalling Comfortplus Under Area Rug Warmers sold nationwide. The rug warmer’s cord can come loose from the plug and cause sparks or flames, posing a fire hazard.

The rug warmers are cream-colored with a non-slip pad, a tan nylon edging and a black electrical cord. They were sold in three sizes, small 3-1/2 ft. x 4-1/2 ft., medium 4-3/4 ft. x 7-3/4 ft., and large 7-3/4 ft. x 9-3/4 ft. Model numbers UAH-3646-120, UAH-4979-120 and UAH-7999-120 are printed on a label located on the underside of the rug warmer.

This recall involves the chrome two-slice electric toasters sold under the following brands: Farberware (model No. FCT200 or FCT100), Hoffritz (model No. HZT2 and HZT2M), and Russell Hobbs (model No. RH2MT). The brand name and model number are printed on a plate located on the underside of the toaster.

Only Progress Lighting ceiling-mounted outdoor light fixtures with model numbers P5526-20 and P5526-44 are included in the recall. “Made in/Hecho En/Fabrique Aux China” and the model numbers are written on the packaging of the product.

The Magtastik and Magnetix Jr. Pre-school Magnetic Toys include small flexible parts embedded with magnets that allow the parts to connect to large, colored metal balls.

Toy sundae sets sold at Target

Battat Inc. is recalling Play Wonder Toy Sundae Sets sold exclusively at Target Stores nationwide from December 2006 to December 2007. The wooden cherries on top of the toy sundae pose a choking hazard.

The recalled wooden sundae set toy includes six wooden scoops of ice cream, three cherries that attach to the top of the ice cream scoops, banana slices, a spoon and bowl. The sundae set pieces attach to each other with Velcro. Model number DPCI-204-12-0526 is included in this recall and is located on the packaging.

Battat Inc. is recalling Magnabild Magnetic Building Toys or Sets sold nationwide from July 2005 to February 2008. Small magnets inside the building pieces can fall out. Magnets found by young children can be swallowed or aspirated. If more than one magnet is swallowed, the magnets can attract each other and cause intestinal perforations or blockages, which can be fatal.

This recall involves the 108-piece (item No. BB1439H) and the 68-piece (item No. BAT-34) Magnabild Magnetic Building System sets. All of the plastic building pieces have the word “Magnabild” in raised lettering on them. “BB1439H” is found on a hang tag attached to the display case. “BAT-34” is found on the box.
