ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — Go ahead and order Girl Scout cookies — the Girl Scouts say their cookies are not affected by the nationwide salmonella outbreak.
The Girl Scouts of Minnesota and Wisconsin River Valleys said Monday that none of the eight varieties of Girl Scout cookies are part of the current peanut butter recall. Only the Tagalong and Do-Si-Do varieties contain peanut butter.
In an e-mail to its cookie sales managers, the local scouting organization said its cookie baker, Little Brownie Bakers, does not get any of its peanut butter products from the company that is under investigation.
Girl Scouts began taking cookie orders Saturday. Cookies will be delivered in late February.
