Breast Feeding Class

Baylor Medical Center at Garland will hold a breast feeding class from 7-9:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 27,  at Baylor Medical Center Garland, Diabetes & Parent Education Center, 900 N. Shiloh Rd., in Garland. The prenatal breastfeeding class is designed for women who know they want to breastfeed and desire current information and skills to prepare for a successful breastfeeding experience.  The class is also recommended for women who are still considering the option to breastfeed and would like current information in order to make an informed decision. A breastfeeding book is given to every woman enrolled in the class. This class meets one time for three hours. This class should be taken in the seventh or eighth month of pregnancy. The expectant mother’s support person is encouraged to attend. The class fee is $30 per couple.

Cesarean Birth Class

Baylor Medical Center at Irving will hold a class on cesarean birth from 7-9:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 27, at the Copper Tree Medical Office Building, Suite 2030, 1302 Lane St. in Irving. Topics will include cesarean birth, delivery process, anesthesia and recovery. The cost is $25 per couple.

 Baby Care Basics

Baylor Regional Medical Center at Grapevine will hold a class on baby care basics from 6:30-9 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 29,  in conference room A&B.  The class is designed to help parents learn the basics of caring for a newborn. The class is $40 per couple.

Jan. 31

 For Women For Life

Baylor Regional Medical Center at Grapevine will hold For Women, For Life from 7-11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 31 at the Hilton Southlake, Statler Ballroom, 1400 Plaza Place, Southlake, TX 76092. This event offers women time to focus on their health.  Attendees will receive free screenings and assessments, as well as a choice to attend a question and answer seminar with Baylor Grapevine physicians. There is no charge for admission, but registration is required.

Infant/Child CPR Class “Family and Friends”

Baylor Regional Medical Center at Grapevine will hold an infant/child CPR class from 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m. and 2:30 p.m- 5 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 31, in conference room A&B. This course teaches lifesaving skills for emergency situations and instruction on cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Information on car seat safety and home safety will be discussed as well. Cost is $30 per person.

Sibling Class (ages 6-8)

Baylor Regional Medical Center at Grapevine will hold a sibling class (ages 6-8) from 9-11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 31, in conference room A&B. The class will prepare siblings for becoming a big brother or big sister. Children will see a video, receive a coloring book, go on a tour and have “hands on” with our dolls and participate in our stuffed animal workshop. Their cuddly friend will go home with them. We will also serve a light snack during the video time. One adult must remain with the child/children for the duration of the class. Fee is $30 per child for the first child and $25.00 for each additional child in the same family.

For Women, For Life

Baylor Medical Center at Irving will present For Women, For Life from 7-11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 31, at the Irving Medical Office Building II, 2021 N. MacArthur Blvd. in Irving.

This event offers a healthy way for women of all ages to begin a new year and focus on their health.

Attendees will receive screenings and assessments including blood pressure, bone density, cholesterol, glucose, sleep apnea and lung function, “women’s health” questions answered by physicians, and a continental breakfast.

There is no cost for this event, but attendance is limited and registration is required.
