The Texas Theater announces the opening of Pump Boys and Dinettes, a popular Broadway musical, June 5 and running through July 25.
The musical, by John Foley, Mark Hardwick, Debra Monk, Cass Morgan, John Schimmel and Jim Wann, will be directed by Stacy Schronk and produced by Tim Eaton and Main Street Productions LLC.
Set on U.S. Highway 57 – somewhere between Frog Level and Smyrna – stands a gas station. Across the blacktop is a roadside eatery called Double Cupp Diner. The four guys at the station have been known to do some auto repairs, but only when aided by quantities of time and beer. The Cupp sisters celebrate their home cooking and pies, with the same zeal they bring to being neighborly to the boys. Rated PG, Pump Boys and Dinettes is a country-rock-blues musical.
Performance dates are June 5, 6, 7, 12, 13, 14, 19, 20, 21, 26, 27, 28, July 3, 4, 5, 10, 11, 17, 18, 19, 24 and 25. There will by no show July 12. Curtain times are 8 p.m. for Friday and Saturday shows and 3 p.m. for Saturday and Sunday matinees.
Tickets are $10 for adults, $7 for seniors and students.
The musical is produced with permission from Samuel French Inc.
