Members of the Park Meadows Baptist Church will present “Rockin’ Back the Clock” in a dinner theater at 6:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, April 11-12, and as a matinee dessert theater at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, April 13.

Audience members will spend two hours enjoying rock, pop and country hits from 1955-1964 while enjoying dinner Friday and Saturday and while enjoying coffee and dessert during the Sunday show.

The show will revive the era of malt shops, poodle skirts and hot rods and will include a tribute to the roots of country music.

Proceeds will benefit the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship’s Rural Poverty Initiative and will fund community and mission projects in Phillips County, along the Arkansas, Mississippi border, one of the 20 poorest counties in the U.S.

“We look forward to providing an entertaining show and a good meal to raise funds for a worthy cause,” Park Meadows pastor Dr. Joe Langley said.

Doc D’s Rock ‘n Blues Show

Doc D’s Rock ‘n Blues Show takes place monthly at the Waxahachie Optimist Club. Dr. Del Waters has set up the new music venue in the hopes of giving the people of Waxahachie and the surrounding area place to hear talented blues and rock musicians in a non-smoking, non-alcoholic environment that is more family-oriented and kid-friendly, much like local country/gospel oprys. It will give bands and the singers a venue to bring their friends and family to hear their music and promote their bands.
