Churches and organizations across Ellis County are gearing up for the annual spring fundraising campaign for the WRC Pregnancy Centers, which begins Mother’s Day, May 8.

During the Change … for Life ’11 drive, families will fill specially designed baby bottles with change, checks and cash providing needed support for the programs of the Centers located in Waxahachie and Ennis.

“This Change…for Life campaign will greatly benefit WRC in preparing for a medical conversion that will include an ultrasound exam,” said executive director Donna Young. “This ultrasound exam will be used to confirm the presence of a viable intrauterine pregnancy and will be performed by a registered nurse under the supervision of a licensed physician. This conversion will take place at the Ennis Center and the ultrasound exam will be offered to every woman with a positive pregnancy test. Through your generous donation, you are helping a woman be introduced to her unborn child for the first time.”

WRC Pregnancy Center is the local pro-life care center offering free pregnancy tests, information, education and resources for those facing unexpected pregnancies and those parenting children up to age 2.  “We count upon our over 60 volunteers and the two annual fundraisers to meet the growing needs of young women and men and Ellis County,” Young said.

The locations are 1204 Ferris Ave., Suite E, Waxahachie, and 100 NE Main St., Suite B, Ennis. All services are confidential and free of charge, offered without discrimination. WRCPC is supported by donations, private grants and two thrift stores, Waxahachie Resale and Thrifty Boutique of Ennis.
