The Waxahachie High School Counseling Department will host its annual College Career Night from 6-8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 19, at the high school.
This is an open invitation to all Ellis County high schools, students and parents who are interested in college information.
“We are expecting over 75 representatives from a variety of colleges, universities, career institutions and military branches to be in attendance,” a spokesman said. “There will also be a financial aid seminar in the library. Valuable information will be provided for parents and college bound students’ grades 7-12.”
There will be a senior information meeting in the Fine Arts Center for senior students and their parents.
“This will be a very informative meeting with topics covering the college application process, college tuition, testing dates, importance of taking the SAT/ACT, financial aid, FAFSA, scholarship information and procedures, recommendation letter procedures, senior deadlines, important dates, senior pictures, senior yearbook pages, cap and gown and graduation announcement information and Project Graduation,” the spokesman said. “There will also be a short overview of Title I funding.”
Counselors will be on hand to answer questions.
“This is a great opportunity for parents to get important information concerning their senior students,” the spokesman said. “Please come and join us.”
In conjunction with College Career Night, Waxahachie High School and Waxahachie Ninth Grade Academy will host their annual open house. Parents are invited to meet their students’ teachers, visit their classrooms and tour the campuses. Student schedules and school maps will be provided.
