The Waxahachie Chili’s Grill and Bar, located at 998 W. U.S. Highway 287 Bypass, is joining more than 1,400 other restaurants in the national chain for its annual St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital fundraiser.

The event, which continues through Sept. 28, will include an array of events.

“We will have Captain Ranger, the Texas Rangers baseball team mascot, here from 5-7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 17, to assist our wait staff in serving people,” said Cindy Regan, assistant manager. “And Sept. 26 will be ‘profits day,’ where all the profit from the restaurants will go toward St. Jude’s Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.”

Members of the Waxahachie Police Department will wait tables Sept. 8-9. On Sept. 10, a pancake breakfast will be served up and Sept. 11 will be the Bikers’ Rally.

“On Sept. 15, the Waxahachie Fire Department will wait tables during both lunch and dinner hours,” Regan said. “And, on Sept. 18, the WFD will have a fire engine on hand.”

She noted that the Waxahachie Chili’s has “adopted” Ethan Hallmark of the Dallas area. Ethan, the 9-year-old son of Rachel and Matt Hallmark, has a massive tumor in his abdomen and has been diagnosed with stage four neuroblastoma.

Chili’s has a care center at St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
