It’s that time of the year for the annual Waxahachie Chamber of Commerce auction.

This year’s theme is “Disco Waxahachie: Saturday Night Fever,” with the auction set for 6 p.m. Oct. 3 at the Waxahachie Civic Center.

Admission tickets are $75 each and include dinner, drinks and entertainment via the Waxahachie’s Got Talent finalists. Dancing in the Studio 50 Club, previously known as the Crape Myrtle Room, will be a highlight of the evening. Attendees are encouraged to dress in 1970s attire or black tie.

Included in the admission ticket is a chance to win “The Big Apple Deluxe” drawing. The winner will receive a deluxe package for two to New York City for four days and three nights. The package includes roundtrip airfare on American Airlines, top dollar tickets to a Broadway show, dinner at Tavern on the Green or The View Restaurant, a classic New York City tour, private roundtrip airport transfers and three nights at a four-star hotel like the Marriott Marquis in the Times Square Theater District. Additional Studio 50 Club tickets can be purchased individually for $50 or three for $100.

Entertainment will feature the finalists from the first Waxahachie’s Got Talent Competition hosted by the Waxahachie Chamber of Commerce and Convention and Visitors Bureau and Texas Theater. The preliminary competitions for Waxahachie’s Got Talent will be held from 6-8 p.m. Tuesdays, Sept. 8, 15 and 22, at Texas Theater, 110 W. Main St., in downtown Waxahachie.

The final three contestants will compete at the chamber auction, with cash prizes awarded. For Waxahachie’s Got Talent official rules and entry form, visit

“And don’t forget about the most important part of the night, the auction,” a spokesman said. “As always, there will be hundreds of great items to bid on, both silent and live. There will be something for everyone from the sports enthusiast, to the lover of fine furnishings and crafts, to the restaurant lover and even the avid traveler.”

The auction is a primary fundraiser for the Waxahachie Chamber of Commerce and funds its program of work, which consists of assisting in the improvement of the economic, civic and cultural wellbeing of the city of Waxahachie.
