The Waxahachie Civic Center will host its eighth annual Bridal Extravaganza from noon-5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 18. The event will feature a bridal fashion show starting at 3 p.m. and more than 50 vendors.

“We’re excited about the extravaganza – it’s going to be great,” senior events coordinator April Ortiz said. “The economy is improving, so we have more vendors this year than last.”

Waxahachie Civic Center will also give away door prizes, which include a $500 gift card for the vendor of choice, a microdermabrasion from CiruDuia Medi Spa, photography services from Darn Skippin Photography and a honeymoon package from Hampton Inn & Suites.

Attendants can preregister for the doors prizes at http://special.wfaa.com/waxahachiebridalextravaganza. Guests can also register for individual vendor’s door prizes at the specific booths.

“The fashion show will feature bridal dresses, mother-of-the-bride and -groom dresses, bridesmaids dresses, tuxedos and fashion head pieces,” Ortiz said.

The fashion show is sponsored by Distinct Elegance Bridal Boutique and Mr. Formal Tuxedo. The civic center is also hosting a wine tasting by Sugar Ridge Winery. The event’s master of ceremonies will be Your DJ.

“We’re expecting an average of about 500-700 guests this year,” Ortiz said.

Vendors attending this year’s expo include bridal dress and tuxedo, venues, photographers and videographers, disc jockeys, make up artists, jewelry, catering, wedding cakes, fitness and weight loss, balloons, invitations, floral, rentals, party services and ministers.

Admission is $3 per person and free for children 12 and younger. For more information about the bridal extravaganza, visit www.waxaciviccenter.com or call 972-938-3434.
