LANCASTER – Looking to make your community a cleaner, greener, more livable place?

The City of Lancaster in conjunction with the national nonprofit Keep America Beautiful encourages its residents to get involved in its 2011 Great American Cleanup Spring Trash Off.

This year’s event will be from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. March 26.

Residents can get rid of bulk trash, recyclables, tires, scrap metal, brush, and electronic waste (i.e. computers, kitchen appliances, televisions, etc.).

There will be a minimal charge of $30 for the disposal of televisions and computer monitors depending on their size.

“Be a part of this movement,” a spokesman said. “The 2011 Great American Cleanup Spring Trash Off is looking for volunteers to help clean up the roadways, parks and creek sides in Lancaster.  If you are interested in getting involved, please contact Jodi Griggs at 972-218-2304.”

This program is open to Lancaster residents only with required proof of residency.  This event will be held at 1501 N. Dallas Ave.
