St. Joseph Catholic School announces Waxahachie Oktoberfest 2011, with the eighth annual event to be held from 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 17, at the Waxahachie Civic Center.

“The Oktoberfest was started in 2003 and last year we saw over 7,000 people attend,” said Maribeth May, development director for SJCS. “This year, since it will be held in a different venue, the Waxahachie Civic Center, where we will have air conditioning. We expect a larger crowd.”

The slate of activities for Oktoberfest includes children’s activities, silent auction, raffle drawings, live auction, biergarten, washer tournament, karaoke contest, German and barbecue plates, music and other vendor booths.

All proceeds will benefit St. Joseph Catholic School.
