RED OAK — Red Oak High School students will join together with Toms Shoes at 5:30 p.m. April 5 at in front of the school for a nationwide event called “One Day Without Shoes.”

The ROHS Renaissance Club has put together a committee to organize this event to raise awareness and money for Toms Shoes.

Toms Shoes is an organization that donates a pair of shoes to a child in need for every pair purchased. In many developing countries, children must walk barefoot for miles to school, clean water and medical help.

Participants will walk barefoot from the high school to Red Oak City Park. After the walk, there will be entertainment by local Dallas musician Dustin Cavazos, volleyball, and other activities, which will be held at the park.
